Did Shakespeare get married?

Yes. He married Anne Hathaway in November, 1582. The license was issued on November 27^th. William was 18. Anne was 26. The marriage was a hurried affair. The banns were not read so that the marriage could take place before the Christmas season when marriages were prohibited. The reason for the haste was that their first child, Susanna, was born six months later in May, 1583.
