I believe Hamlet is a religious man, but the concept that alll
would have turned out right if he had left things up to God is
not the theme of the play (of course if Claudius had left things
up to God there would have been no story to begin with). The play
takes the position that, if the ghost is telling the truth,
it is right and proper for Hamlet to revenge his father. Part
of the reason the play is so satisfying is that after all the
soul searching, he does accomplish this goal, even at the cost of
