I have been advised by my local PBS station that the original
series of all of Shakespeare plays has never been re-offered to
PBS or any other media. They are available in a complete set
(only) on VHS tape at an ungodly price; presumably for purchase
by libraries, schools or other institutions which can afford them.
Can someone shed some light on why the series has not been
