Well, SURE...but...

Hey. I didn't say Shakespeare was ENTIRELY blood, gore, and sex. There is of course a deeper, more intellectual side to Shakespearean theater, but keep in mind who he was writing for...all evidence (well, Hamlet, at least) points to the fact that the average groundling had the attention span of a gnat. If you didn't load your play with vulgar themes, your actors would get rotten fruit thrown at them. So it goes.

Also, I don't profess to teach the children about all the sex in Shakespeare or whatever, but there's nothing wrong with piqing their interest... :)

Otherwise, yes, I do agree with you. Enthusiasm is probably the key to all teaching, but doubly so in this subject!
