Key to Teaching THROUGH Performance

The key here is that you are teaching THROUGH performance...not performance itself. The goal is not to have kids doing polished works worthy of a Tony, but experiencing Shakespeare with their voices, bodies, and emotion! Teaching through performance will only fall flat if the teacher expects the kids to perform like trained actors. :-) Pick up a copy of the Folger Shakespeare Set Free and try using one of the units with your students. You won't be sorry!
