Parallels

EVERY tragedy starts with someone at the top and shows his fall, which is at least partly his own fault. So in that sense every tragedy has the same plot. But every comedy is about some confusing factor screwing up a peaceful situation, but then things getting resolved before anyone gets hurt, so every comedy has the same plot. On the other hand, in both Hamlet and Macbeth, the main character encounters a supernatural force, gets the idea to kill the king, kills the king, and dies (Don't bother replying that there are significant differences; I know).
