it was...

..the bomb. Really, you have to see it. Actually, the real play is intended to be 4 hours long, not like the 2 hour Mel Gibson thingi (which was not accurate not only in omitting lines, but giving lines of one character to another (can't give specific examples now, but I saw it before), and what was the deal with Gertrude kissing Hamlet? (can't stand glenn close anyways)...
Everything about Branagh's Hamlet was fab. well, maybe except that one scene right before the intermission (towards the third hour of the movie) when R&G take him to England and he speaks, and you can see the Norwegian army coming from behind him in the snow, and the shot is slowly backing up from him..... that was sorta overplayed... but the rest was great. (my fave -- the last scene, the ghost's eyes, and the confession booth)........
The movie is worth all the 3h58m of it.....see it now..don't wait for the tape.
