Broad Question

My view on this play is that people who do movies of it, and most theatrical preformances ignore the most important person: Emilia.
Emilia is SO important. She's the link. She's the most interesting person. She's obviously a neglected and battered wife of someone she obviously loves dearly for some unknown reason-Iago. She is scared and extremely loyal to Desdemona, her only friend. It is interesting, the transformation of emilia in this story. She goes from a background character to boldly giving her life for Desdemona's reputation at the end. I think she is one of the most beautiful and dramatic characters in any shakespeare.
My other views are that this play has the most horribly sad endings of any of the tragedies. it made me want to shoot myself in the head- figuratively speaking, of course.
Anything else?
I think roderigo is also important, but less.
I also think that one of the most important, but overlooked scenes is the one where brabantio brings othello before the duke in Act I.
This is a play in which one needs to pay attention to the small things, because they are easily overlooked, but they add millions to the story.
