Opinion v. Proof

Had you started this debate by saying "In my opinion,
from my reading of the sonnets, I believe that Shakespeare
was bisexual," then I would have respected your opinion and said
"Yes, one possible interpretation of the sonnets is that
Shakespeare was bisexual." But you didn't: you said something
along the lines of "Shakespeare was bisexual. The sonnets
prove it." It is not your opinion that I am arguing with;
it is your assertion that your opinion is "proof".
