Thanks for your reply. It was the best of all the replies
I received for my inquiry in that it was nicely put and
made me understand more clearly all about the angles of
directors, time periods & dress, etc. I guess what I like
seeing the most is Shakespeare's plays set in Shakespeare's
time, or somewhere close enough to it that it seems more
"historical" as you put it. That is why I disagree so much
about the recent Romeo and Juliet and Richard III films. I
believe in a director/writer's freedom of interpretation, but
that does not mean I have to like it! I am waiting anxiously
to see Branaugh's Hamlet (in fact I have been dying to see it
but have just only recently found a place near my city to see
it) but am only too glad to see R&J and Richard III on video.
