I have always believed that speech should be interperated by the actor playing Hamlet in any given production. What does it mean to you? If you were Hamlet, why would you say those words to yourself? If I was Hamlet, I would be contemplating killing Claudius. I would know that my entire success or failure in my life and in becoming a man hinged on that one act. If I kill him, well then, I'm one kind of man. If I don't, well, then I'm another kind entirely. Which kind of man am I? What kind of man do I want to be? You decide. That's one of the great things about Shakespeare ... no one can tell you that your interpretation is wrong.
