English

Sh's language is English. Not Old English, not Middle English. Technically, some linguists might call it Early Modern English. The differences from our English are more apparent than real (Take away the THEES and THOUS, and they're almost the same). A couple of books on the subject: M Joseph: SH'S USE OF THE ARTS OF LANGUAGE. i. Evans:THE LANGUAGE OF SH'S PLAYS. H. Hulme:EXPLORATIONS IN SH'S LANGUAGE.
