The fact that Claudius loves Gert says to me that he isn't a totally bad charater.
He trys to pray which means that underneath he is just as every
bit as the "justly" Hamlet. The significance of that he prayed
and Hamlet just complained about his guilt is another reason
why I think Claudius could be good after all. As Shakespeare
placed all the characters in a chaotic and corrupt society
just like Macbeth shows the everyday human condition
