Antony and Cleopatra -- Did the two lovers need Enobarbus to inquire about each other??

I'm doing a research paper on the importance of Enobarbus in the play Antony and Cleopatra. I'm wondering if that should be one of my points.
My other points: his role as commentator and his death elevating Antony during his downfall. I'm uncertain about Enobarbus making Cleopatra lookg good and
about Enobarbus keeping the lovers together or something like that...Help me! I know this play is not usually read, but if you have something to say...please do so.
