savagery

Othello is clearly portrayed as a savage. If you examine his language through the play, it starts off eloquent and slowly his syntax becomes more common. Brabatio also accuses Othello of witchcraft. Even though Othello is accepted as a worthy general, and worthy of Desdemona according to the Duke, there are many references throughout the play to his savage or beastial nature.
