Much Ado

Surely they'll respond to the tell-him-she-loves-him/tell-her-
he-loves-her plot and also to the rejecting-her-because-she-
isn't-pure-enough plot. Have them improvise modern equivalents and debate the believability/morality of each; that will lead them back to seeing the psychology/motives in the play. And use at least scenes from the film or the 1980-ish tv version.
