I've always seen Ophelia as the target for all of the anger and frustration
which Hamlet feels for his mother. Aside from the chamber scene, Hamlet re-
bukes Gertrude comparitively little. However, he is constantly making ref-
erances to his displeasure with her in his asides. While we are made to be-
lieve that he was once in love with Ophelia, we see him use some particular-
ly nasty words when they talk. But as far as we can see, Ophelia has done
