father-daughter relationships(in comedies): the issue of betrayal

HI...i'm trying to construct an essay exploring the concept of patriarchal betrayal in the comedies As You Like It and A Midsummer's Night's Dream...it will also explore similarities and differences in these two plays. Also--did Shakespeare have reason to have negative feelings towards women? It seems that many of his female characters have little concept of loyalty? Especially to their fathers?
eg: Rosalind & Celia, Desdemona, Helena (AMND), Ophelia, etc.
