Hmm..

It would be interesting to know why you feel a world where everyone has a purpose and where a heavenly order prevails to make sure all is right in the world is a depressing or pessimistic view of the universe. If anything, the opposite viewpoint, one that everything is chaos and no one and nothing has purpose would be pessimistic.
