a little extra assignment for you, kid

Go to your high school's library, or to your public library, and take a look
through the Oxford English Dictionary (the OED). You'll find this in the
REFERENCE section (you know, all those boring books you can't take out). If
you don't know where this is, ask the librarian: he or she is bound to know.
Once you have the OED within grasp, look up the etymology of the word "comedy".

I found the play hilarious myself, but even if you did not, it is still a comic
play.
