Hal and Falstaff

Hal hangs out with Falstaff because he's caught between two
worlds: the stilted formal world of the court of which he will
eventually become the king and the carefree, sometimes lude
world of the tavern. Hanging out w/ Falstaff both serves as
an escape for Hal (from court world) and a way for him to act
out his future role as a king (note scenes in which Hal
and Falstaff play act).
