could anyone tell me about the"Profanity Statute" or "commonplace book"

I need to aquire a brief understanding of the "Act against Abuses
of Players/ The Profanity Statute" as our professor put it. I have
not been able to find anything anywhere. I also need to learn briefly
about The Common Place Book. I have found material about it, but
I need to know the connection it has to Shakespeare???
