i'm currently writing a paper on the political intent in julius caesar, and am contending if there actually is a political intent on shakespeare's part. or is the play just a study of human nature and what is resorted to in moments of crisis. i mean, brutus goes through all the inner conflict because he is divided between what he feels and what he believes he should do to be honourable. so too are the conspirators. they tell brutus they want to kill caesar for political reasons, but isn't is just their unwillingness to be ruled and controlled by a dictator (king?) i hope there'll be opinions on this, i would realy appreciate it!!!!!Posted by nik noor tahirah on April 07, 1997 at 23:14:44
