Romantic Love

Um, well, you know that marriages were usually pre-arranged, and it was considered pointless to marry for love, so mothers and fathers usually arranged the marriages and then told their daughters about it. Look at Juliet. She was in love with Romeo (which would have made her parents mad even if he wasn't a Montague--although probably not AS mad), and her parents were trying to marry her off to Paris, whom she did not love. Juliet was a romantic at heart, and desired to marry forlove, but she knew her parents would disapprove, so that's why she eloped with Romeo, and that's what caused the eventual deaths of Romeo, Juliet, etc.
I hope this helps!
