Macbeth: tragic hero?

First you must define what "hero" means.
if in the sense of "one who seeks justice to promote the good in ons's self
and/or those around the self" then---no...he was not a hero....tragic
circumstances--yes...but he was responsible for them...he did after
all listen to forces darker than he...and was in many ways blinded
by greed.
