The role of animal imagery, sheer chance, Iago

I'm studying Othello in school as well, we have been assigned three topics that I thought could be of some help to you.
1. Examine the use of animal images in Othello. What does the animal imagery contribute to the play?
2. What role does sheer chance play in the action of Othello?
3. Rodrigo, Cassio and Othello are all minipulated by Iage. But how are they different (weakness/virtues). How do the tree comment on each others character?
