Time is out of joint

Directors usually cut Fortinbras, not only in film versions but also in staged versions of Hamlet because they figure that the play is just too long for sane audiences to sit through. Even without Fortinbras is it a humdinger. That is a shame, since Fortinbras is so important. BRANAGH is an exception (thank goodness).
