especially with Horatio will reveal his state of mind. He changes but he is also saddled with the momentum of the past. If the play would be costumed better these changes would be more apparent.

Maybe I should remind you that the climax is reached in the closet scene and from there on, though quilty of Polonius' accidental death, Hamlet is no more depressed.
