re: journey of the handkerchief

Iago didn't GIVE the hankerchief to Cassio, he actually planted it in Cassio's room and Cassio found it.(scene 3 act 3 ln 337) Cassio then gave it to Bianco in order for her to duplicate it. When she refused to accept a gift that belonged to another, she then gave it back to Cassio... all the while, Othello was watchng the dispute between Cassio and Bianca
