If it were ME doing this paper I would not compare how Hamlet's family
compares to today, but how his family unravels...His entire WORLD
was shattered to bits when his mother, whom he looked up to, married
his uncle, whom he despised...Hamlet could not handle the incestuous
relationship between Gertrude and Claudius, He felt it was discusting
and a direct insult to his father...Therefore condemning the women
closest to him--ophelia and gertrude--and pretending he was mad so if
he could not break apart his mother and his uncle, then at least he
could get his uncle to confess to his father's death...Posted by Amy the Great on April 15, 1997 at 15:21:28
