Horatio and Hamlet

I think I can understand some of the tensions Hamlet is under, and
conflicts he is struggling with. I can accept some kind of general
connection between melancholy, creativity and intense mental anguish.
But I can't see how Shakey _develops_ that as a _theme_ in 'H'. What
I keep coming back to is the idea of Denmark in the grip of a hectic
fever that must run its course, and the events that take place are
in some sense manifestations of that disease - not willfully created
by Hamlet or anyone else.
