The Countess of Roussilon, in ALL's WELL THAT ENDS WELL. She is portrayed in a very diferent way than other Shakespearean mothers, specially Gertrude and Lady Capulet. The Countess is a lovable mother and cares a lot about Bertram and Helena. And here, we have the two situations: a mother-son relationship, and a mother-daughter one, because the Countess also plays a mother role to Helena.Posted by Kris on April 17, 1997 at 10:34:49
