Frustrated by the Prince's debauchery, King Henry IV despairs that he will have gone through all his troubles, only to have a wastrel inherit the throne. Do you think he sees his dilemma as God's punishment for having Richard II murdered in Pontrefact Castle in 1400, or does he see Hal as his own failure as a father and King? Also, does anyone know how I can get ahold of the July-Aug edition of Humanities magazine, in which is a great article on the teaching of Henry IV, pt. I?Posted by Jeff Wescott on April 17, 1997 at 14:14:52
