Schooling

We know for a fact he never went to university. We don't know for a fact, but it seems very very likely, that he attended the very good school in Stratford, probably to about age 16. He would have learned very little science, about 8th grade math, some geography, more history. He would also know more Latin and Greek than 99% of today's college graduates, and immense amounts of something called Rhetoric, which was a combination of literature, composition and creative writing (essentially, they studied great writers by memorizing long sections and by writing original attempts in the style of the writer being studied). Somewhere along the way, probably on his own once he went to London, he learned French and possibly Italian.
