How old is Hamlet when his father dies? According to a teacher I have now, Hamlet is 30. However, a previous teacher of mine says that Hamlet is 15 when his father is murdered. She also said he is 15 until he goes to England (with R and G) and 15 years pass till Ophelia's suicide . So according to her, Hamlet is 30 only in the last act. Which professor is right? I personally think it is my first prof, because in the beginning Hamlet is asking his mom if he can go back to school in Wittenber. Why would a 30 year old still be in school? This has been puzzling me for weeks!
