funny

I recognize the validity of the question - since Hamlet
himself asks it and since the other young men are more
bloody, bold and resolute. But the question always strikes
me as funny. So he has some moral qualms about cold-blooded
murder! That makes him a coward? Don't we today recognize
the moral difficulties of vigilanteism?

He should have been more of a coward - Polonius would have
lived.
