Too true, in my opinion. I also think that Ophelia is one more relationship that Hamlet needs but is denied for circumstances beyond his control. She is someone he should be able to trust. She is someone who loves him. Perhaps he thought that with her, he could feel safe. But then he sees that she is under the control of her father, who is under the control of Claudius. Maybe he rejects her in the nunnery scene because he knows that Claudius is able to and will use her against him. I don't think that he stopped loving her - I think he realizes that Ophelia cannot willingly disobey her father.
