break bonds of friendship

Bonds of friendship must be set aside in favor of the marriage bond. Benedick must forsake his first allegience to his friends, Don Pedro and Claudio, in favor of aligning himself completely with Beatrice. Doing so allows him to become Hero's champion as well.
