Take Shakspearean courses!

What level do you want to teach? I would assume college, but it's possible
you wnat to do it at the high school level. If the later is the case, you
will have to major in secondary education with an English background. Unless
you land a job in a school which is liberal about such specialized courses,
the most you could hope for is either a unit on Shakespeare or an extra-
curricula program on Shakespeare.

If the former is the case and you want to teach at the college level, (and
those who have more knowledge may want to back me up or correct me if I'm wrong)
I would recomend majoring in English and going for a post-graduate degree;
Chances are, you'll need your doctorate to become a full professor. Even then,
you may not get to teach a course on Shakespeare as the schedule of classes and
who teaches what must be worked out among the entire staff of the English Department.

Your dream sounds worthwhile, though, and if you are seriously interested in
pursuing it, then by all means do it. Good luck.
