Macbeth essays

I have an essay test an 4-11-97 and need some help with the questions. PLEASE HELP!!!

Essay Questions:

1.Discuss the varying characters' viewpoints and visions about the definition of manhood.
Which characters(s), if any do you believe is/are voicing the opinions of Shakespeare?

2.Discuss the meaning and significance of blood in the play Macbeth.

3.Respnd to this viewpoint by critic Robert B. Heilman: "Shakespeare so manages the
situation that we become Macbeth, or at least assent to complicity with him and accept
ourselves as murderers. Macbeth agonizes more than he antagonizes and we empathize
with his fears and ansieties.

4.Discuss the ironies exhibited throughout Macbeth by the quotation "Fair is foul and foul is
fair." Give the significances and consequences of each irony discussed.

5.Discuss the role of fate as William Shakespeare intends it to be. What is the relationship
between free will, chance, and character flaws as Shakespeare discusses in Macbeth.
