help on Macbeth

1) Concentrate on how Lady MacBeth convinces MacBeth to commit
the murder in the first place/ Also the scene with the murderers and Macbeth ("We are men my liege...In the catalogue ye go for men...)
conversation between Malcom and MacDuff/ conversation with Lady MacDuff and Ross Re:MacDuff's desertion of his family
2)Think of first appearance of blood in the play. (Bloody Captain)/ Make a list of all the times blood is
mentioned and then look for the common emotional tie of the characters who mention it.
Symbolism--What does blood represent to MacBeth
3)Macbeth's situation is a perfect example of a "snowball" ; have you ever been in a
situation that got out of control??? Ex: a little white lie, then you have to lie more to cover up, etc..
what is almost ALWAYS the end result of the situation?? Do you agree that covering up is worse than the pain of actually coming clean in the first
place??? Can you feel MacBeth's desperation in trying to "Maintain" his status?
4)"Twas a Rough night" -- Quote by Macbeth before Duncan's body is discovered
there are more--- look for things that seem innocent on the surface, but we as readers know there is a sinister or evil intent or motive
*** That's the best I could do without my book right here. Remember, Shakespeare can be interpreted many different ways. In any essay, pick the book apart, look at each line
put yourself in the character's place. Try to feel MacBeth's emotion-- Good luck, you'll do great!!!
