Question about Branagh's Hamlet

Essay on Hamlet: I am writing an essay on Hamlet for my English class
and I am doing it on the difference between Hamlet's, Laertes's, and Fortinbras's
revenge. I am pretty clear on Hamlet and Laertes, but I never thought
about Fortinbras until after seeing Branagh's Hamlet. Do you know where
Branagh's idea of Fortinbras planning an attack came from? Or do you have
any ideas of how I can prove that he was out to revenge his father's death during
the last scene of the play, but was too late?
