NERISSA IN THE MERCHANT OF VENICE

I AM CURRENTLY WORKING IN A TERM PAPER. THE ASSIGNMENT
IS TO ANALYZE SHAKESPEARE'S USE OF A MINOR CHARACTER.
I CHOOSE NERISSA BECAUSE I THINK SHE COMMENTS SHYLOCK'S
CLASS/SOCIETAL STUGGLE IN THE PLAY. SHYLOCK LOSES A LAW
BATTLE AGAINST A SOCIETY, NAMLY CHRISTIAN. NERISSA, I THINK
COMMENTS ON THE SOICETAL STRUGGLE OF THE LOWER CLASS -
SHE WANT AND SEEKS EVERYTHING THAT PORTIA DOES. TO ME,
IT IS APPAREENT IN HER LANGUAGE. SHYLOCK LOSES, BUT NERIISA
IS VICTORIOUS - THAT IS WHY SHE GETS THE FINAL LINE OF
THE PLAY. MY QUERY IS BASIC - IS THIS A VAILD ASSUMPTION?
THANK YOU!
