From the enigmatic "He dyed a papist" to the "discovery" of John Shakespeare's "Testament" of Catholicism, there have been rumblings of recusancy throughout histories of Will's life. His daughter was, after all, on the Stratford recusancy list at one time. (Wonder what it cost "Dad" to cover that one up?) Was Will a Papist?
