Hamlet and Laertes don't fail...

At the end of the play Claudius and Hamlet are dead. Which is what they wanted.

Of couse, the case could be made that Laertes was *wrong* for seeking revenge on Hamlet, and (tenuously considering the text) the case could even be made that Hamlet was wrong.

But they didn't fail in the goals which they set out to accomplish.
