evidence

Why won't you accept the work itself as evidence? Maybe
it's not conclusive, but then neither is the evidence
for almost anything, including existence itself. We can
go quite far on the writing itself, if we agree that
literary history suggests that writers put much of
themselves into their work. Why except S?
