Good point, and...

Good point about B&R: since these things code in this way,
it is likely that somebody thought it when they put it
together. So a historian watching the movie in 300 years
would need to study the cultural context to decide what
the movie meant - and would very likey be unable to
interpret the meaning based solely upon his or her personal
and historically specific response. Hence the usefulness
of academics, who tend to have invested more time in
the context. The same applies to Shakespeare.
