Should Merchant of Venice be taught at High School level?

I am writing a paper for a British Lit Survey class and want to discuss whether Merchant should be taught at the High School level, and if so, how do teachers address the prejudices found in the play? Isn't avoiding the anti-Semitism akin to acceptance? Are there other aspects of the play that should be addressed with high school students? I know that Merchant has a history of being banned and will also be looking at the reasons for the banning, as well as the reasons for the books reinstatement into curriculum.
