I'm not denying

There may be some homosexual subtexts in WS's works (though I do think that much of it is merely assuming 20th Century behavior of 15th Century men).

But that doesn't mean that WS was gay.

I'm objecting because, as works of fiction, the plays are meaningless in finding out about WS the man; there is no way of telling what is his true feelings and what is merely his skill as a writer.
